Regulation of Production: Penalties For Violation of Tobacco Board Act, Rules And Regulations
- Excess / unauthorized tobacco production:
The FCV tobacco farmers shall not plant tobacco in excess of area authorised and produce tobacco over and above the quota authorized by the Board. The excess quantity produced by the registered growers and unauthorised tobacco produced by unregistered growers without registration from the Board will be in violation of Tobacco Board Act and Rules. The excess and unauthorized tobacco production will be allowed for sale in auctions subject to levy of penalties every year as per Government notifications.
Charges notified by Government for 2021-22 crop season in Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka States are as follows:
- An amount of rupees One per kilogram and Five percent of the proceeds of the sale (including a normal service charges of one percent of proceeds payable by growers) shall be contributed to the Tobacco Fund by every registered grower for the excess flue cured Virginia tobacco produced by him or her upto the extent of ten percent of the quota authorised for 2021-22 crop season.
- An amount of rupees One per kilogram and Five percent of the proceeds of the sale (including a normal service charges of one percent of the proceeds payable by growers) shall be contributed to the Tobacco Fund by every registered grower for the flue cured Virginia tobacco produced by him or her over and above the limit of ten percent of the quota authorised and also by every unregistered grower for the flue cured virginia tobacco produced by him or her for 2021-22 crop season.
