Minimum Guaranteed Price (MGP)
During 1989-90 the Board, with a view to instil confidence among growers on the prices, introduced the concept of Minimum Guaranteed Prices (MGP) for various soil regions in A.P and Karnataka after negotiations with the Trade and Industry.
The Minimum Guaranteed Prices (MGPs) offered by the trade are generally above the Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) announced by the Govt.
The MGPs, MSP and the overall average prices realised by growers in the auctions during the previous years are as follows.
