




Every year the Board ties up with the banks and arranges crop loans to the registered tobacco growers to meet the cost of cultivation. Further, the Board pays the auction sale proceeds to the growers through the concerned banks to enable the recovery of the loans.
In the event of natural calamities resulting in damages to crop and barn structures, the Board arranges additional loans from financial institutions for rejuvenation of crop and repairing of barns. The Board also extends financial assistance/ relief measures with permission from the Govt. of India.
Sizeable number of growers do not have adequate infrastructure for bulking & grading of cured tobacco. Therefore, the Board assists such growers in the construction of bulking sheds by organizing medium term loans at 9% to 11% rate of interest.
